Scandal Central

The heading refers to Talking Points Memo, where Josh Marshall is turning up fresh spadefuls of rich, loamy dirt on an almost-hourly basis. For example:

1.) Six Republican campaign workers in South Dakota were forced to resign over a burgeoning voter-fraud scandal. The leader of the group, who is still under investigation by the SD attorney general's office, has just been tapped to run the President's GOTV efforts in Ohio.

2.) Two confessed felons in the 2002 New Hampshire phone-jamming scam have now ratted out a third co-conspirator, Jim Tobin, who turns out to be the New England regional head of Bush-Cheney '04. The Ashcroft DoJ is intervening to delay discovery and depositions. Why? Because Tobin was also the Northeast political director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and testimony is likely to show that the whole scheme was arranged through the NRSC.

3.) RNC chair Ed Gillespie has taken the unprecedented step of threatening legal action against the youth-registration group Rock the Vote for continuing to discuss the prospect of a military draft even though the President has said that we do not need a draft. (Rock the Vote's challenge to Mr. Bush's well-known infallibility could make them liable for damages under current heresy laws.)

4.) And then there's the Karl Rove Dirty Tricks Watch.
