David Leland is out. Wellington Webb is out. And now, according to Tim Grieve of Salon's War Room, Martin Frost, the former Texas congressman who campaigned as a Bush-lite Democrat, is out as well -- which leaves Howard Dean as the man to beat for the chairmanship of the DNC.

Will Robert Novak rise to the challenge and save the Democrats from their mad suicidal impulse to diverge ever so slightly from the Bush agenda as endorsed by popular mandate in the recent accountability moment? -- or will he elect to gloat in silence, thinking: damn their eyes! I told them what to do, and charged them nothing, and they ignored me; it serves them right?
